Young Enough to Not Understand. But Old Enough to Never Forget.

I know what everyone is thinking. How can I create a post about the Tenth Anniversary of 9/11 when it happened a week ago!? Give me a break; I had to work! I can't believe it's been ten years. Funny enough it's also hard to believe it's been ten years since I've been in fifth grade! Where was I on 9/11? Well like any other kid I was in school not really sure what was going on. In fact, I was even happy because we were getting out of school early! I didn't understand what was going on. All I knew was that I took a walk to the bathroom and saw many parents fleeing in and yelling at our secretaries that they're taking their children home. When I went home I saw the news. I saw the towers. I thought of all the people in there dying. It's funny because on Sunday night as I watched the many TV shows about 9/11, I kept wishing that I had been older when these attacks happened. If this happened today, I would be glued to the TV! I would have been able to understand and feel the families' pain more. When I watched the shows and saw the towers falling, it made me very angry. I could feel the blood boiling inside me. How can someone hate America so much to kill innocent people? I was shocked to hear that many other countries held candle light ceremonies for the U.S.! It's mice to know that they supported us. Ground Zero looked like a war zone straight out of a movie. I couldn't believe it. I'll never forget that day. And my heart goes out to the families.
